Viborg Public Library Launches Summer Reading Program

Young readers will explore the night this summer as Viborg Public Library presents “Dream Big – Read” during their summer reading program. Activities may include programs on stargazing and moon lore, dreams and wishes, space explorations, and a pajama story time.

The 2012 Summer Reading Program is open to young people preschool through 6th grade. For more information call the Library at 326-5481 or stop by the Library to sign up for the program. The reading program starts Wednesday, May 23rd and will meet every Wednesday for six weeks (ending on June 27th). All programs are free of charge!

Vaccination Clinic

Sioux Nation Ag Center will be holding a vaccination clinic in the Community Center/Fire Hall on Saturday, May 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. All dogs and cats in the City of Viborg are required to be licensed and vaccinated.

Fees are as follows: Rabies vaccination – $9.65, distemper for dogs – $8.65, distemper for cats – $7.65, combination of rabies and distemper for dogs and cats – $16.50. All of the above fees are subject to sales tax.

City licenses may be purchased for a fee of $5.00 at this time.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Share an hour or more of your time to bring good food and friendship to your Viborg neighbors. Sometimes all it takes to brighten someone’s day is a smile and the hand of friendship. The Meals on Wheels Program needs volunteers to help deliver hot meals to Viborg shut-ins. To volunteer, or for more information, call Bonnie at Pioneer Memorial Hospital, 326-5161.

Viborg Area Weight Watchers

New members are always welcome to join the Viborg Weight Watchers group. Meetings are held on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Hospital’s Holiday Room (in the basement of the hospital). Weigh in’s begin at 5:00 p.m. Anyone can attend a meeting for free with no obligation to join! Call Karen Larsen at 327-3460 with questions.
